Agilent Microfluidic Modulator

Agilent system based on microfluidic technology compatible with GC and GC/MS systems, with flow control by pressure (not by temperature) compatible with divers aplications including the possibility to work with backflush, easily split flow to up to three detectors including a mass spectrometer, heart-cut difficult to resolve analytes from one column dimension to another to fully resolve them or take advantage of the added peak capacity and resolution of comprehensive GC x GC. Based on a proprietary chem-milled, diffusion-bonded process, these inert, low-mass and low-dead volume devices not only make it easy to make secure connections, they also provide the ability to precisely divert gas flow pneumatically, wherever and whenever is required.

  • Reliable Setup: Based on Capillary Flow Technology, easy to set up, high performance chromatography, and reliable.

  • No Cryogen Required: Flow modulation means no tanks of Liquid N2 or CO2.

  • 7890A Enabled GC x GC: Capillary Flow Technology and 7890A electronics ensure precise modulation.

  • Columns: Wide range of column types and dimensions possible.

  • High temperature operation: Can perform GC X GC on hydrocarbons above 60 °C.

  • Comparable resolution without N2: Capillary Flow Technology allows low dead volume and precise flow control, resulting in minimum peak broadening even without cryo-focusing. Peak widths on the second column are typically 60 to 100 ms at half maximum.

  • Wide Range of Samples: Flow modulation allows running a full range of compounds, from gases to high boilers.

  • Sensitivity: Comparable to that obtained by thermally modulated systems.
