Several configurations are available to analyze for methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide. The configurations differ in whether they have a methanizer to detect lower levels of carbon dioxide as methane on an FID. All analyzers backflush water and heavies. Analyzers differ in what analytes are backflushed and when. Those analyzers that have a methanizer differ on what analytes bypass the methanizer. Configurations are available that also separate oxygen and nitrogen. SF6, though not part of our checkout, may be detected by extending the analysis time.
