ALEXYS iodide Analyzer
A method for the determination of iodide is developed using electrochemical detection (ECD) with a silver working electrode (WE). The method consists of reversed phase chromatography using a ion pair and phosphate/citrate buffer at pH 6.5, followed by amperometric detection at 0.15 V. The silver electrode is extremely selective towards iodide, which is detected at a potential close to zero. As a result the sample prep is easy, only a dilution and filtration step of the urine samples. The chromatogram shows a triplicate analysis of a urine sample containing about 2 µmol/L iodide.
- HPLC with RP C18 and ion pair
- Extremely selective Ag electrode
- Quick and easy sample prep
- Robust & reproducible
System configuration
For the analysis of Iodide we selected the Flexcell with silver working electrode. The cell as a virtually maintenance free HyREF reference electrode.
The ALEXYS system comprises the following parts:
- AS 110 autosampler, cool
- LC 110S HPLC pump
- DECADE II electrochemical detector, SDC
- Flexcell with Ag WE and HyREF
- OR 110 organiser rack
- LC connection kit
- USB connection kit, 3 port
- Clarity data acquisition software
